The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) have released the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026 admit card on the official website, which is, nestexam.in.Candidates who have registered for the entrance examination can now download their hall tickets by logging in with their application number or user ID and password.The NEST 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 6, 2026, for admission to the five-year Integrated Master of Science (MSc) programmes in Basic Sciences offered by participating institutes.Candidates appearing for the examination must carry a printed copy of the NEST 2026 admit card along with a valid photo identity proof to the examination centre. Accepted ID proofs include Aadhaar card, voter ID card, Permanent Account Number (PAN) card, passport, driving licence, or college identity card.The examination authorities have stated that candidates without the required documents may not be permitted to enter the examination hall.

How to download NEST 2026 admit card

Candidates can follow these steps to download the hall ticket:

  1. Visit the official website, which is, nestexam.in
  2. Click on the “Download Admit Card” link available on the homepage
  3. Enter the application number or user ID and password
  4. Submit the login details
  5. Download the admit card and take a printout for future use

NEST 2026 exam pattern and marking scheme

The NEST 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and will have a duration of three hours. The question paper will consist of four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.Each section will contain 20 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 60 marks. Candidates will be required to attempt at least three sections.As per the marking scheme, candidates will receive three marks for every correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.The final merit list will be prepared based on the best three section scores out of the four sections.
