Anna University is set to start the online registration process for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test 2026 and the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admissions for Postgraduate 2026 today, March 16, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their application forms through the official website, tancet.annauniv.edu.Candidates who wish to appear for either of the entrance exams are advised to complete the application process before the last date, April 10, 2026. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Purpose of the exams
The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted for admission to postgraduate programmes such as Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) offered by participating colleges across Tamil Nadu.The Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admissions for Postgraduate (CEETA-PG) is held for admission to postgraduate engineering and architecture programmes. These include Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Architecture (MArch) and Master of Planning (MPlanning).
TANCET 2026 exam schedule
According to the official timetable released by Anna University, the TANCET 2026 exam will be conducted on May 9, 2026 in two different shifts.
- MBA exam: 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon
- MCA exam: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
CEETA-PG 2026 exam schedule
The CEETA-PG 2026 examination will be conducted on May 10, 2026. The exam will take place in a single session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. It will be held at 15 test centres across Tamil Nadu.
Application fee
Candidates must pay the required application fee while submitting the online form.For TANCET 2026:
- Rs 500 for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar (SCA), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories from Tamil Nadu
- Rs 1,000 for all other candidates
For CEETA-PG 2026 (including counselling charges):
- Rs 972 for SC, SCA and ST candidates from Tamil Nadu
- Rs 1,944 for other candidates
