About Jim Carrey’s controversy

A month ago, the 64-year-old actor had made a rare public appearance at the César Awards. Photos of him, specifically close-ups of his face, had then gone viral on social media. Many people had come up with the conspiracy theory that the famed actor had been replaced by a clone. Many pointed out that since he looked ‘unrecognizable’ at the award event, there were high chances that the person who attended the event was not Jim Carrey. Many people took to their social media accounts in order to share their opinions on the matter. The rumors got out of hand, and the actor’s representative issued a formal statement for everyone. She stated, “Jim Carrey attended the César Awards, where he accepted his Honorary César Award.” In another report from Variety, reps from the Ceaser awards also condemned the conspiracy theories. They posted, “Jim Carrey’s visit has been planned since this summer. From the outset, he was extremely touched by the Academy’s invitation. (Carrey) worked on his speech in French for months, asking me about the exact pronunciation of certain words.”
