Maruti Suzuki India plans to introduce four more electric vehicles by 2031. The announcement was made by senior executive Partho Banerjee at an event in Hyderabad, PTI reported. At the event, Maruti Suzuki delivered 108 units of the Maruti Suzuki e VITARA to customers in a single day. The company said this reflects growing customer confidence as it steps up its push into cleaner mobility solutions. Banerjee noted that the brand’s mid-term strategy includes expanding its electric portfolio across multiple segments, indicating a broader presence in the EV space in the coming years.

Looking ahead, the company has set its sights on becoming the market leader in the battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment by 2031. Banerjee added that Maruti Suzuki will shape its EV strategy based on market response and evolving demand. On the pricing front, the company hinted at a potential increase due to rising commodity costs. While the exact hike is yet to be announced, Banerjee clarified that global factors, including the ongoing West Asia situation, have not yet been fully assessed in terms of impact.The e VITARA, produced exclusively at the Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, has already crossed 25,000 units in exports, reaching 44 countries and targeting over 100 global markets. In FY26 alone, the company exported close to 4.5 lakh vehicles.To support its EV expansion, Maruti Suzuki plans to establish over one lakh public charging points across India by 2030. It has already set up more than 2,000 dedicated charging points. Inputs from PTI.
