The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that it will send important examination updates and centre-related information to candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 Re-Examination through its official WhatsApp channel.According to the agency, the initiative has been introduced to ensure that candidates receive important information directly and to reduce confusion ahead of the re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.
NTA shares official WhatsApp account details
NTA has informed candidates that all WhatsApp updates will be sent only through its verified WhatsApp account with the number +91 7827980287.Candidates have been advised to look for the blue verified tick and the display name “National Testing Agency.” The agency clarified that any number without the blue verification badge should not be considered an official NTA account, even if it uses the agency’s name.The agency also stated that its WhatsApp channel is a broadcast-only service, which means candidates will receive information but cannot reply to messages.
NTA warns candidates against fraud
The testing agency has issued a warning against fake messages and online scams.According to NTA, it will never ask candidates to:
- Share One-Time Passwords (OTPs)
- Provide personal details through WhatsApp
- Make any payment through links or QR codes
- Download question papers or answer keys from unofficial sources
The agency said that any message claiming to be from NTA and asking for such information should be treated as fraudulent.
Fresh admit card issued for re-exam
NTA has also informed candidates that a fresh admit card has been issued for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21.The admit card issued for the May 3 examination is no longer valid and cannot be used for the re-exam.Candidates have been advised to download their admit cards only from the official website and avoid clicking on links shared through messages or social media platforms.
How to report suspicious messages
Candidates who receive suspicious messages claiming to be from NTA can report them through the government’s cyber fraud reporting platform.Those who come across fraudulent messages can submit complaints online through the designated reporting portal.The agency has also advised candidates who have already lost money in an online scam to immediately contact the National Cybercrime Helpline 1930 and file a complaint through the cybercrime reporting system.
NTA urges candidates to rely only on official sources
The Agency has asked candidates to remain alert and rely only on information shared through official channels. The agency reiterated that it does not distribute examination papers, answer keys or any “leaked” material through WhatsApp, emails, messages or phone calls.NTA stated that it remains committed to conducting the NEET UG 2026 re-examination in a transparent and fair manner and wished all candidates success in the upcoming examination.
