Time and time again, fans have reported that the singer helped them with bills and other payments. One of these instances included a student from Toronto, who had been studying at the University of Waterloo in 2019, and had been dealing with the crushing debt of student loans. However, with much of a notice, the singer transferred USD 4,800 to the girl’s account. She had earlier posted about her struggles and had added information to her account as well. While starring on ‘Good Morning America’ at the time, the fan had detailed her experience, sharing that “You know how you vent online? And you don’t imagine Taylor Swift is going to see it — it just doesn’t happen. I honestly had no idea that she was going to see it. I was just shook.”
When Taylor Swift helped her fans with medical bills
In the same year, she once again quietly donated around USD 10,000 for a fan’s medical bills. At the time, Trinity Foster had been diagnosed with stage four osteosarcoma and had posted about a funding page to help with treatment costs. The ‘Opalite’ singer had seen photos of Foster holding a listening party for one of her albums and had come across her plight at the time.In 2018, she also quietly paid USD 15,500 for a fan who had been struggling with a lot of medical bills. The fan had posted about her plight on social media at the time, revealing that her mother had been in a coma, and that the family was struggling to make ends meet. The singer had donated on her funding page and had furthermore signed it off by simply saying “Love, Taylor, Meredith, and Olivia Swift.”
When Taylor Swift extended her support to staff members and truck drivers
The singer mainly never advertises such acts, and they almost always only come out to the public when someone posts about the payment, or some news outlet breaks the news.Last year, around Christmas time, Swift visited the Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and her fiancé, Travis Kelce, play in the field. After the game, the couple ended up interacting with many of the staff members at the stadium, and even gave tips to all of them worth USD 600. Robyn Gentry was one of the staff members and had posted about the matter online, which ended up going viral.Not only this, but after her extremely successful ‘Eras Tour’ ended, to show her appreciation and love for the team, she handed out gifts and bonuses to everyone. Reportedly, her truck drivers received bonuses worth USD 100,000. PEOPLE confirmed that she gave bonuses to all of the crew members who were involved in the tour, including backstage crew members, as well as onstage dancers. The singer spent around USD 197 million only on bonuses.She had also talked about ‘bonus day’ during her 6-part docuseries documenting her ‘Eras Tour’ journey. She cited in the series that “A bonus day is so important, because setting a precedent with the Eras Tour is really important to me — because people who work on the road, if the tour grosses more, they get more of a bonus. These people just work so hard, and they are the best at what they do.”
