Ten days after her demise, the actress took to social media to pen an emotional note, remembering her mother as her “first love.” Expressing the depth of her grief, she added that words fall short of capturing what she is going through.

‘My mother, my first love… my everything’

Sharing a childhood throwback picture, Zareen wrote, “‘Innaa lillahi wa innaa ilayhi raji’un (To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return). My mother, my first love, my best friend, my baby, my world, my everything… It’s been 10 days that you are gone.”Expressing the depth of her grief, she added that words fall short of capturing what she is going through.“I’m not gonna write some long caption for the world to read because you know exactly what I’m going through right now without you. There’s a constant ache and emptiness in my heart which is irreplaceable.”Zareen concluded her note with a heartfelt goodbye, wishing her mother peace.“Be the chhota baby you always were and enjoy your parents’ love in Jannat… Until we meet again!”

Passed away after prolonged illness

Parveen Khan passed away in Mumbai at the age of 65 after battling a prolonged illness. Her last rites were held at Versova Muslim Kabrastan in Andheri West. Confirming the news earlier, Zareen’s team had said, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. This is to inform that our beloved Ms Parveen Khan, mother of Zareen Khan & Sana Khan, has departed peacefully to her heavenly abode on the 8th of April. May Allah grant her the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.”
